Dragon’s Dogma 2 may run with 60fps only on PC

According to some people who have played a preview build of Dragon’s Dogma 2, this upcoming action title may be locked at 30fps on current-gen consoles. So, if these reports are accurate, Capcom’s latest game will run with 60fps only on the PC.

For those wondering, Capcom hasn’t revealed yet the game’s console performance modes. However, back in November 2023, the team shared its official PC requirements.

These PC specs seemed a bit high, which may explain why the console versions could be locked at 30fps. For gaming at 2160i/30fps, Capcom recommended an Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600X with 16GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 or AMD Radeon RX 6700. Plus, these requirements were for the non-RT version of the game.

Now while Capcom listed 30fps in its PC specs, we’re certain that the game will have an unlocked framerate on PC. So, if these 30fps console rumors are accurate, PC gamers will be the only ones who will be able to enjoy it at 60fps.

NVIDIA has also revealed that the game will support DLSS 3 Frame Generation at launch. As such, PC gamers will be able to use DLSS (and most likely FSR) in order to boost their performance. The game will also have Ray Tracing effects (though we don’t have any details about them as of yet).

Lastly, the following screenshot has been circulating on the Internet for the past couple of days. These “leaked” PC requirements are fake.

Capcom will release Dragon’s Dogma 2 on March 22nd. The game will be also using the Denuvo anti-tamper tech at launch. Given Capcom’s history, though, we expect the Japanese team to remove it one or two years after the game’s release.
