Haha, that’s the thing about Linux. I’m constantly hearing about a new distro. I especially love the fact thatb there is no “best”, it’s what’s good for you. Who knew there was a gaming specific one. Yes I’m going to dual boot or just have a drive specifically for Linux. Thanks man, Linux here I come. 🏎️

Good to hear that you plan to give Linux a try!

Although I’d suggest you dual-boot first, meaning that you have both Windows & Linux installed at the same time and choose which one to boot at start-up of your PC.

As for a possible distro, how about Nobara 39:

It’s optimized for gaming out-of-the-box.

But please note there are still going to be some big upgrades shortly, like switching to the all new KDE 6.0 desktop environment.

And AFAIK, @Cryio here on DSOGaming is also using Nobara, so he might be able to help you out in case of any problems you might encounter.

I don’t understand you Linux people repping steam so damn hard. It’s counterintuitive. I though the idea behind Linux is so you are EXTRA FREE. But you’ll make a deal with the devil if it means you don’t have to rely on Windows. What you’re doing is jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. I’m shopping around for the right distro, in order to dump windows for good but Steam is not the way. DRM is garbage in any form.

Yeah I was about to ask, “what does that even mean anymore?” 3x more powerful than PS5, who gives a damn. PC platform is the most disrespected. Unfortunately, the End Users are to be blamed this time around.

Why do you keep in supporting Nvidia then? What are you waiting for to make the jump over to AMD. At least with AMD you have a degree of open source. Lesser of 2 evils? Yes, but it’s one less problem to deal with.
