That’s why I said realistic settings, if you are overdoing it w an old laptop you’re going to get tearing. I never use vsync unless it’s a req like in the older AC open world games like Origins/Odyssey where screen flickers if you don’t have it. Yeah my 2060m isn’t much more than that desktop card, I get no tearing and such just use realistic settings. And as I said to goobertard there I wasn’t speaking to the .05% that have gsync, sheesh you agro notsees.

I have an old laptop laying around MSI gt72 with gtx 980m 8gb gpu, it has 60hz screen no gsync at all. While i use my desktop for gaming mostly, i use this laptop for all the retro or old games heck it can play most PS4 games in 60fps and some demanding PS4 era games in medium 1080p 60fps. Without Vsync the screen tearing is horrible and frametimes are all over the place. Its a 2015 high end gaming laptop and at that time Gsync and freesync wasn’t very common. If u have non freesync Gsync monitor, Vsync is really important. Games look really bad without Vsync. However in multiplayer games its not necessary to have Vsync turned on.
