ArcSin Jesse has released two Pokemon demos on PC, using Unreal Engine 5. The first one remakes N’s Castle from Pokemon: Black & White, whereas the second demo remakes the Sinnoh region. These demos have proper gameplay mechanics. So, make sure to try them if you are a die-hard Pokemon fan.
For those unaware, Sinnoh is where Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, Platinum, Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Legends: Arceus take place. On the other hand, N’s Castle is the headquarters of Team Plasma in Pokémon Black/White. So, consider these demos as a taste of what modern remakes of these games could look like.
As said, these demos have proper gameplay mechanics. In other words, you’ll be able to find and fight other Pokemon. So yes, these fan projects have working battle system mechanics. The fact that only one person has managed to create them is also commendable. And, since we’ll never get official Pokemon games on PC, you should definitely try them.
You can download these Pokemon fan games from here and here. I’ve tried downloading Pokemon Sinnoh and its link works (I used the 1fichier link). It also appears to be free of malware. So yeah, you should be safe.
Since these fan remakes use custom assets, they should be safe from Nintendo’s wrath. In a way, they are similar to the Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remke in UE5. Still, I recommend downloading them while you still can. You never know how Nintendo will react to them. A couple of days ago, the big N took down the PC remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX.
Speaking of Unreal Engine 5, we recommend trying out these other free fan-made demos. You can grab a Superman UE5 Demo, a Halo 3: ODST Remake, and a Spider-Man UE5 Demo. There’s also a fan-made version of STALKER in Unreal Engine 5. If you love old-school FPS games, you should check out this remake of the classic FPS Blood in Epic’s engine. Don’t also forget the remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s Halo level in UE5 or this free Attack on Titan game.
