There are a number of games that have used hybrid engines like this. Look at Halo The Master Chief Collection which combines Halo Engine and Saber3D Engine with Unreal Engine 4, and Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary actually uses its original Halo Engine for the gameplay and the Saber3D Engine for the graphics.

There was some talk about them using a hybrid engine.
UE5 for better effects and visuals.
Oblivion engine for game logic and physics.

I have never heard that this was even possible, but it now may be possible to have the downsides of both engines in 1 game.
