justar looks to have coalesced around two franchises that release alternately, gta and rdr in the last cycle. Instead of gta6 it was rdr2, rdr3 will be 5 years after gta6 release. Idk maybe they’ll just go to a streaming game service where there isn’t a fixed sp story or just a small episodic “story” of an hour or so that sets up online only objectives related to that episode. They’re always looking for the monthly/regular payment model with microtransactions “stores” in games etc Like a casino keep em playing as long as possible.
They should have developed a sequel or even a series of the LA Noire game, Chicago Noire, Nola Noire etc Bully with the children in it probably would be too much of a hassle pr wise for a giant dev like RS though. A small indy dev could get away with it because they don’t get the coverage of RS. There are macabre games about cannibalism and such that I stumbled on in steam, grossaf.

In reply to Raiden Black. This is all on gaymers. They give money to their GaaS projects that exceeds expectations, why would they develop expensive DLC's similar to episodes of liberty city? Similar to Steam, they found out churning out mobas and running a online store beats finishing Half Life 3 a thousand fold. Bad incentives being rewarded with more bad incentives.
